I've always wanted to experience the Caribbean, but haven't made it past Key West yet. Which is the best island and area for someone who wants to feel the general vibe there on a lowish budget? It can be a ramshackle hotel as long as it's not dangerous.
Are there affordable resort areas on the Bahamas, for example?

I would recommend Jamaica. Some people say it isn't safe in the more budget areas but not too many thieves go after grungy backpackers. Just be cool, and don't act all worried and afraid. But I highly recommend staying away from Kingstown, just head on out to Negril instead. Not much to the town proper, but Rick's cafe is around there, and there are some awesome beaches and cool budget places too.
Aruba also one of the best place for vacation. For hotel cost we can search online & also compare the rates.
