I'm thinking about going somewhere in the Caribbean during August, but am not quite sure where to go.

Here's the criteria that I'd like to meet:
    - little rain as possible
    - safe & clean
    - historically less affected by hurricanes

    Anyone have any ideas?

The Dominican Republic has great beaches, people and culture. Try Cabarete, Puerto Plata or Sosua. I rented a villa in Sosua last month through Golden Key Management, a company that offers beach front villa rentals and condos and we had a great time. The people are friendly and the beaches absolutely gorgeous. Find more information at www.goldenkeymanagement.com, they helped me set up almost the whole trip at no additional cost.

There are so many nice places in Carribean like Jamaica, Aruba, The Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Turks and Caicos, Greater Antilles and Lesser Antilles. you can select any thing from this because all places are very beautiful.
